CATIA V5

CATIA V5 is availavle to educational institutions at a highly discounted rate. The program allows for schools to offer the most advanced CAD technologies to their students.
There are two versions of CATIA V5 available to schools:
- ED2 - Available to all educational institutions ED2 provides a complete set CATIA V5 modules to cover the most specialized, comprehensive courses.
- Discover - A CATIA V5 dedicated configuration specifically for K-12 academic institutions.
CATIA V5 Discovery provides in one seat, a consistent design package containing the main CATIA V5 Mechanical, Shape Design and Styling domains. Allowing students to work on the core definition of a project, it provides the tools needed to perform 3D part and assembly design, extensive generation of production drawings, and create in context, wireframe construction elements and advanced surfaces. To assist with the initial innovative thought process a "clay modeling" style tool is also provided.
Workbenches of other CATIA V5 domains include Product Synthesis, Equipment and Systemes Engineering, Analysis, Machining and Infrastructure. These provide integrated interference checking, real-time rendering capabilities and data exchange using common industry standards such as IGES format and stereolithography.
Additional capabilities are also provided to extend the students creativity from creating structures and plant layouts to designing sheet metal parts and plastic molded parts using new CATIA V5 functional approach. For the later down-stream processes the tools are provided for kinematics simulation, linear finite element analysis and 2 to 3 axis numerical control machining.
