The digital creation arena represents one of the most exciting and challenging opportunities for students to combine style and engineering.  Do your students embody these joint talents?  If so, you should know that Black & Decker and Dassault Systèmes have teamed up to sponsor the Surface Design Competition. Prizes include an internship at Black & Decker, free CATIA V5 Student Edition licenses and power tools! Visit or direct your students to http://campus.3ds.com/students/contests-challenges/surface-design-competition/ for more information.

After several years of providing excellent DELMIA customers service to Colleges, High Schools and Universities, Technology Education Concepts has decided to focus their business elsewhere.  Here at ENGINEERING.com we are happy to support these schools and and welcome them to North America’s only reseller program for DELMIA and CATIA.  If you have any questions during this time of transition, please don’t hesitate to contact David Livingstone or Maya Metselaar.

What eco friendly projects are your students working on? Are they designing the next generation eco aircraft or automobile? Maybe a new type of wind turbine? We want to know! Student projects you submit could be selected for showcasing on www.CATIAstudent.com and by Dassault Systemes. Please contact dlivingstone@engineering.com

As a valued ENGINEERING.com customer, SIMULIA is offering you up to 20 seats of ABAQUS FEA Software for your classroom for only a nominal administrative fee. This is your chance to use commercial FEA software for your design classes! If you are under budget pressure this year, this will save money for your school. All you need to do is provide a description of the course where it is being used. For more info, contact Dave Livingstone dlivingstone@engineering.com
