Catia Software Installation
Before installing Catia, please turn off any firewalls and anti-virus software for the duration of the install. If this is not done, there could be a failure in the software install.
To disable the firewall, open the Windows Security Center (Start > Control Panel > Windows Firewall) and select "Off". To disable the Anti-virus software, right click on the Anti-virus icon on the bottom right corner of your toolbar and select “Disable” or an equivalent option. Your Security Center should then look like this (Start > Control Panel > Security).
STEP 1 – Insert the Catia Solution CD for your Operating System. When you reach the Welcome screen, click "Next". Now you will see a window similar to the one below. Do not attempt to import a nodelock license since this machine will be using a concurrent license. Click "Next" and then click "Next on the window that appears.
STEP 2 – Select “Yes” when asked to create a directory.
STEP 3 – Accept the default location for the Catia environment a click “Next” to continue. Click "Yes" when the confirmation window pops up.
STEP 4 - Choose the Custom Installation Option and click "Next".
STEP 5 - Highlight your configuration (i.e. ED2 – CATIA – EDUCATIONAL HEAT 2 Configuration) and click "Next".
STEP 6 – Press “Next” on the Orbix setup as well as the Communications setup window.
STEP 7 –Ensure that there is no check mark beside “Yes, I want to setup the Enovia Vault Client” and then press “Next”.
STEP 8 – Select all three options on the following screen and then press “Next”.
STEP 9 – Choose whether you wish to install Online Documentation on your computer. We recommend that you do install this, however, be aware that it takes a considerable amount of space on your hard drive. Make your selection and then press "Next".
STEP 10 - Review the summary of installation preferences and then click "Install".
The installation process will take between 15 to 30 minutes. In that time, please refrain from running any other applications as this process is very memory intensive.
