CATIA STUDENT INSTALLATION GUIDE

Pre-installation Checklist:
- Before you begin the installation process, you should have your Catia license certificate downloaded on your computer. The license certificate would have been emailed to the e-mail address specified when you purchased your Catia Student Edition. The license certificate would have come in as an attachment with a . LIC file extension. If you choose to install Catia software without a license, then you will need to go to C:\Program Files\Dassault Systemes\B16\intel_a\code\bin and running the CATNodelockMgt.exe file after the installation and point it to the license file.
- Temporarily disable all firewalls, virus protection and anti-spyware software during the installation process.
- It is highly recommended that you exit all applications during the installation process.
- Since the entire process may take more than 30 minutes, ensure that your power settings are not set to hibernate or stand-by when idle for a short period of time.

STEP 1 – Insert the first of four CD's that you received with your CATIA Student package. The following screen should come up. Press “Next” to continue .

STEP 2 – Now import the license certificate that you downloaded onto your desktop by clicking on “Import Certificate” and browsing to the location of the License file.

STEP 3 – If you do not have a License file yet, you can continue with the installation process and provide the License File when you do receive it. Accept the default install location by pressing “Next”.

STEP 4 – Select “Yes” when asked to create the directory.

STEP 5 – Accept the default location for the Catia environment a click “Next” to continue. Click "Yes" when the confirmation window pops up.

STEP 6 – Select “Complete – All software will be installed” and then click “Next”.

STEP 7 – Press “Next” on the Orbix setup as well as the Communications setup window.

STEP 8 –Ensure that there is no check mark beside “Yes, I want to setup the Enovia Vault Client” and then press “Next”.

STEP 9 – Select all three options on the following screen and then press “Next”.

STEP 10– Choose whether you wish to install Online Documentation on your computer. We recommend that you do install this, however, be aware that it takes a considerable amount of space on your hard drive. Make your selection and then press "Next".

STEP 11 - Review the summary of installation preferences and then click "Install".

The installation process should take between 15 to 30 minutes. In that time, please refrain from running any other applications as this process is very memory intensive.
